Hij is gepromoveerd aan de universiteit van Maastricht met onderzoek naar transcatheter aortaklep implantaties. Hij bestudeerde daarbij verschillende aangrijpingspunten om de risico\u2019s van transcatheter aortaklep implantaties te verminderen, waaronder de optimale antistollingstherapie.
